Despite missing two days of practice due to sickness and
a third day of practice due to ice our Panther had
a successful day at the district swim meet today.
Now in the words of her coach he will "kill them"
over the course of the next two weeks to
prepare them for the regional meet.
Go Panthers! And one Mustang for good measure!

The girls helped Shadya hang some memories
from home above her bed.

Shadya came bearing gifts, gifts and more gifts!
This is just a small portion of what she brought.
Jacob loved his Juan Valdez attire and the
Columbian version of Blow-Pops!

Tonight we embark on a fun adventure with a new
addition to our family.
Shadya will be with us for the next 6 months.
She brought us so many thoughtful gifts including a
large hammock, lots of candies, sweatshirts and
three different types of coffee compliments
of Juan Valdez. Who else?

We learned a couple of things on our short ride from
DFW to our home.
She recognized McDonald's and said they have them in her country.
They also have Hooters. (No comment)
Dishwashers do not "exist."

Her trip from her home to our home took nearly 17 hours.
Her mother has called to check on her and
we are ready to call it a night!

It is a big day for us today!
Our exchange student, Shadya, arrives from Columbia.
She has a 14 hour travel day.
Brynne and Jacob whipped up some
welcome signs for her arrival this evening.

Lacey, otherwise known as, our magnificent cake decorator,
did Jacob's cake in the paintball theme.
He loved it!

This is a tardy post from Jacob's birthday party.
Normally we celebrate his early December birthday in late November.
However, we opted to push it back since we were just coming off
our big family visit.
We booked his paintball party and then had it turn
bitterly cold for the party weekend. We opted to
push it back a week and the weather was much more
Texas seasonal. Hooray!
The boys had a great time racing through various setups trying
to take the other team out.
