Jacob had his hard cast put on yesterday.
It went to school like a blank canvas
and came home like a unique masterpiece.

Why so sad, Jake?
Could it be the soft cast and air pillow boot due to the fractured foot?
Trying desperately to keep boredom at bay and maintain a positive
outlook Jacob's mom has realized she will be doing 1/2 the amount
of socks in the laundry! The hard cast will be set next Tuesday
and puts a major damper on the basketball season about to start in early May.

Boomer Sooner!

Brynne and I made another college trip today. We were at the University of Oklahoma. I wonder if she might someday be studying in this "Cherokee Gothic" library...

...or worrying about the freshman 15!

Tonight we had Senior Presentation for NCL. This is the time to honor the Seniors and highlight the past 6 years. Tonight it was particularly poignant as I considered being a Senior Mom next year...and again the next year. It gives me a lump in my throat just thinking about it...hope I can hold it together when the time comes!

Part of the purpose of Snapshot-Colleyvile is to
bring you up to speed on firsts and other notable things.
That they are only notable to us would certainly
be a valid discussion - ha!
At any rate, yesterday Jacob asked to ride his bike to school.
It would be totally irrelevant to tell you his school is immediately
in front of our neighborhood. Like less then 2 minutes worth of peddling away.
Close proximity notwithstanding it was a big deal and
something the girls never did...so that warrants a picture.
(Which Jacob proclaimed totally "lame" as I whipped
out my camera.)

But let's make good use of this posting by pointing out the
home across the street is for sale if you desire a Texas home!

We were prepared to see the swing set go sooner
then later, but it ended up going later!
The original fella who wanted it moved and was
not able to take it any longer. It was a huge task to
take it apart and equally challenging to haul off.
Brynne said it really gave her a lump in her throat
to see it going. It has logged many, many hours of fun
in our backyard and we expect with a few minor repairs
and a fresh coat of stain it will provide much more for a
new set of children.

It was a joy to take the kids back to
Beautiful Feet to work with the
homeless children of Fort Worth
at their church. The Mattson kids make me proud
with their sensitivity, compassion, patience and creativity.
